PANDORA ENSEMBLE

PANDORA Ensemble has been formed in order to highlight a subtle link of theatrical and musical expression and is committed to promoting a range of repertoire that encompasses a wide spectrum of musical styles, including old and contemporary pieces.  It frequently unifies each concert by presenting a theme that pervades the entire performance.

The history of the newly formed PANDORA commenced in January 2006 at London’s Burgh House. There it presented ‘Voyages’, a glimpse into the music of the 21st century, where poetry, photography and painting united in an organic way. After this first successful performance, PANDORA has appeared regularly in London and other venues throughout Britain.

In August 2006 PANDORA gave two world premieres by Ficarra and Athanasiadis on the Hokkaido Island in Japan, both works being inspired by Japanese art and culture. The performance was highly praised and received substantial coverage in the local media. Following this successful performance, PANDORA was invited to return to Japan for a ten day tour in September 2007. Other future engagements include appearances at the St. Olave’s Church, All Saints Church Blackheath and the Hellenic Centre in London.
